- Identify how their Strengths will help them succeed in school
- Create a School Success Strength Card
- Complete the counseling survey for 7th grade

- complete the career cluster finder and learn about careers that match their interests and strengths.
- choose one cluster to explore in greater detail to expand their career knowledge in the cluster area of their interest.

- Use Cluster Finder results to explore colleges that offer college majors that connect with clusters of interest.
- review College Profile & College Web Tour.
- Add at least 2 colleges to ‘Colleges I’m Thinking About’ list.

Policy 8030 Updates - High School Graduation Requirements has been revised. The new policy will be effective July 1, 2015.

Mathematics The updated policy addresses the MSDE changes for math:
- Clarifies the math requirement for freshman (entered high school in 2014-2015) and beyond
- Three math credits still required for graduation BUT students must be enrolled in a mathematics course in each year of high school
- Students must be enrolled in a mathematics course up to a maximum of four years unless a mathematics course is needed for graduation
- High school courses taken in middle school beginning in the 2015 - 2016 school year:
- passed courses will count toward the 21 credit requirement
- grades and credits will be reflected on the high school transcript
- grades earned will NOT calculate into the GPA
- If a high school student retakes a course taken in middle school:
- the high school grade will be calculated into the GPA
- only one credit will be awarded
